JP Ironworks, LLC, in partnership with MarQ Steel Services, seeks a Project Executive to provide strategic oversight for our portfolio of steel fabrication and erection projects, ranging from custom architectural metalwork to large-scale structural installations.
Strategic Leadership Responsibilities:
Business Development & Client Relations:
Develop and manage relationships with potential and current clients
Play a lead role in securing new business and negotiating contracts
Act as focal point of contact for clients, ensuring expectations are managed proactively and diplomatically
Drive strategic growth initiatives across multiple market sectors (commercial, healthcare, infrastructure)
Build and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, and general contractors
Executive Project Oversight:
Oversee the project's high-level strategy, align teams, and manage client relationships
Supervise projects and ensure they're delivered on-time, on-budget with high levels of quality, safety and profitability
Typically responsible for projects in the range of 10K to 3MM
Observe and report on high-level performance metrics, review progress, resolve bottlenecks
Manage project portfolios across steel, aluminum, and stainless steel fabrication
Team Leadership & Development:
Manage and oversee the project team, including senior project managers, project managers, superintendents and engineers
Provide guidance, assist in solving problems, measure and define success for tasks and projects
Lead cross-functional coordination between fabrication and MarQ Steel Services erection teams
Assist in developing professional skills and work towards retaining employees
Serve as valuable liaison between project team and high-level company leadership
Strategic Operations:
Manage all projects with adherence to company procedures, within predetermined project strategy, conditions, schedule, and budgets
Drive innovation in fabrication processes and technology implementation
Provide prompt and accurate information to facilitate invoicing and cash recovery
Establish company-wide project management standards and best practices
Lead capital investment decisions for equipment and facility improvements
Required Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in senior project management roles
Project Scale: Proven track record managing projects $1M+ in structural/miscellaneous steel
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field OR equal on the job experience
Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge in all areas of construction, from building methods, sequencing to cost estimating
Leadership: Command of executive leadership best practices and understanding of company goals, culture and finances
Familiarity with AWS and AISC standards, codes, practices, and procedures
Strong business development and contract negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Skilled in strategic project management, contract negotiation, and construction estimating
Understanding of all facets of steel fabrication and erection processes
Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, FabSuite, Fabtrol and advanced project management systems
Established network within the mid-Atlantic construction industry
